CTEVT 2076 Question Paper of Chemistry : 

1. a) Write the qualitative and quantitative significance of the                     following  chemistry equations.

           NaOH + H2SO4 => Na2SO4 + H2O

   b) Define equivalent weight 0.175gm of a metal gave 152ml of              H2 at NP on  treatment with dil. H2SO4. Calculate the                        equivalent wt of metal.


2. a) Write down the postulates of Dalton's atomic theory. 

   b) 0.45gm of metal when dissolved in dil. HCL gave 760cc  of H2         at 27deg and      640 mmHg pressure. The specific heat at metal         is 0.23. Calculate the exact      atomic wt. of metal.(ag.at                     27degcelcius = 26.74mmHg.)


3. a) Define Avogadro's hypothesis. Show that the molecular weight          of the component is twice of it's vapor density.

   b) What is mole? Calculate the no of mole in 

      i) 11.2 ltr of CO2 at NIP

      ii) 20 gm of CaCO3


4. a) Define acid and base in term of Arrhenivs concept with one                example of each.

   b) 10 power -3 mole of NaOH is dissolved in 10 litres if water.                What will be the  pH of the solution? 


5. a) Write down the Rutherford atomic model in brif. 

   b) Write any two differences between arbit and arbital's?  Write              the electronic configuration of term of S, p, d and f.


6. a) Define Oxidation and reduction in terms of Oxidation number.          States with example.

   b) Balance the given equality by O.N methods.

7. a) Define Allcalimetry and acidimetry. What indicator would you          use during the  titration between HCL and Na2Co3 and why ?

   b) 200ml of 0.8 H2SO4 is mixed with 250ml of 0.6 NaOH. is the           resulting solution acids or basic? Calculate the normality of the         resulting solution.


8. a) States Modern period law. Write down the advantage of                      Modern periodic table.

   b) 25 ml of NaOH solution required 20 ml of decinormal solution         of HCL for complete neutralization. Find the strength of                    NaOH in terms of Normality,  gram/liter and percentage                    strength.

   b) Define the term electro valency. Draw the Lewis structure of             H2SO4.
